Our Mission:

On August 6, 2018, the Jean Ip Foundation was registered as a charitable organization under the Income Tax Act (Canada) (Charitable Registration No. 771509718RR0001).

The purposes of the Foundation are as follows:

  1. To relieve poverty by providing food and other necessities of life to individuals and families in need.
  2. To advance education by offering publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to individuals pursuing post-secondary education.
  3. To receive gifts, bequests, funds, and property, and to hold, invest, administer, and distribute funds and property to other organizations that qualify as “qualified donees” under the provisions of the Income Tax Act (Canada).
  4. To undertake any other activities incidental and ancillary to the achievement of the aforementioned purposes and to exercise the powers of the Foundation.

Since its inception, the Foundation has been dedicated to expanding its activities under its second core pillar, advancing education through scholarships. Starting in 2020, the Foundation has awarded 50 scholarships of $2,000 each annually to eligible students attending various school districts such as the Vancouver School Board, Vancouver Christian School, Vancouver Community College, Burnaby School District #41, and Richmond Christian School.

In addition to the 50 scholarships awarded each year through the participating school districts, the Foundation is expanding its scholarship program to assist financially struggling students.
