Our Mission: Empowering Potential, Inspiring Futures
At the Jean Ip Foundation, we believe in every student’s potential. We understand that resilience and determination can transform adversity into opportunity. Founded on August 6, 2018, as a registered charitable organization under the Income Tax Act (Canada) (Charitable Registration No. 771509718RR0001), our mission is to empower individuals facing financial hardship by providing the resources they need to achieve their educational goals and create a brighter future.
Our pillars and values are rooted in compassion and impact:
-
Relieving Poverty: Offering essential support, such as food and necessities, to needy individuals and families.
-
Advancing Education: Providing scholarships, bursaries, and financial assistance to help students access post-secondary education.
-
Supporting Qualified Organizations: Managing and distributing funds to other charitable entities aligned with our mission.
-
Pursuing Excellence: Engaging in activities that amplify our purpose and commitment to creating meaningful change.
Since our inception, the Foundation has focused on advancing education as one of our key pillars. Beginning in 2020, we have proudly awarded 50 scholarships annually, each worth $2,000, to students across various school districts, including the Vancouver School Board, Vancouver Christian School, Vancouver Community College, Burnaby School District #41, and Richmond Christian School. These scholarships reflect our belief that financial obstacles should never stand in the way of academic ambition.
